It is a bit strange and funny that I do all the drawing that I highly enjoy on my oldest computer - with a cracked screen, a somewhat dying battery, and seemingly always on the verge of running out of storage space.
I thought I would solve that last bit by my big Icloud upgrade the other week. Photos was hogging a handful of precious gigabytes of storage, and I was expecting the Icloud photo library and automatic storage management to magically free up at least a large part of that.
So far, that has not worked out. If anything, it seems Photos now occupies slightly more space. Could it be that generating miniatures for all those photos actually takes up this much storage? I hold out hope that something may yet kick into gear and free some space up. An unreasonable amount of storage is - once again - being taken up by system files, so perhaps the Ipad has somewhat deadlocked itself by trying to download and unpack a system update?
On the plus side, Icloud means that I have regular backups of the Ipad. So if nothing else clears things up, I can quickly and painlessly try just resetting the whole device and restoring from backup. It is, after all, pretty much only a Procreate device at the moment, and in such a constrained role I feel I should be able to wring some more productive time out of it.
(Very happy with the drawing for tomorrow's Kodsnack by the way! And the episode itself.)
