Shared happiness

June 13, 2023

The whole family spent much of yesterday, just like many recent days, in a sort of summer holiday mood. That nobody is actually on summer holday just yet does not matter all that much.

So school and work was followed by summer-type activities like going for a bath in a lake, and all of a sudden it was a little bit later than expected without anyone having really felt like non-summer-type activities like thinking about cooking dinner.

Thus, summer-type pizza was ordered. As I was on my way home with our treasures, I was spotted by a colleague. I clearly looked very happy about life in general, because they not only noticed, but noticed how happy I looked before actually noticing it was me.

Today, when we met at the office, they commented again about just how happy I had looked, making me happy about it once again.

(Yes, I made it to the office, yay! I talked to people, had fun, got things done, and tried a new place to get lunch from. Day at office fully completed.)

I think the main reason I looked so happy was that something funny was being said in the podcast I was listening to, but that does not matter at all. The important thing is that their happiness about my apparent happiness has made me even happier about the day.

Shared happiness is indeed double happiness.
